McCloud is an old mill town located 12 miles from the City of Mt Shasta on Hwy 89, the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. Rich in history, a visit to the Heritage Junction Museum housing 100 years’ worth of historical artifacts, photographs, and exhibits, is highly recommended. This picturesque downtown is a Nationally Registered Historic District. Now McCloud boasts year-round recreational opportunities and charming casual to luxury accommodations. Only 6 miles from town, the famous McCloud river draws fly fishermen from around the globe to fish for the famous rainbow trout.
